نيويورك: قال سفير السعودية لدى الأمم المتحدة عبد الله المعلمي، اليوم الإثنين، إن تقرير المخابرات الأمريكية الذي اتهم ولي العهد السعودي الأمير محمد بن سلمان في واقعة قتل الصحافي جمال خاشقجي لم يقدم أي أدلة دامغة.
وقال السفير على تويتر “التقرير يستند على الافتراضات ولا يقترب من إثبات الاتهام بما يتجاوز الشك المعقول”.
وأضاف “الأمير تقبل بشجاعة المسؤولية الأخلاقية وقدم المتهمين للعدالة وتعهد بإصلاح أجهزة المخابرات… القضية أغلقت”.
وبنى التقرير الأمريكي الذي صدر يوم الجمعة تقديره القائل إن بن سلمان وافق على عملية لاعتقال خاشقجي أو قتله على مسؤوليته عن صنع القرار في السعودية والضلوع المباشر لمستشار كبير له وحراس له في القتل وتأييده لاستعمال الإجراءات العنيفة لإسكات المعارضين في الخارج ومن بينهم خاشقجي.
ورفضت الحكومة السعودية نتائج التقرير وتكرر بياناتها السابقة عن أن قتل خاشقجي جريمة شنعاء ارتكبتها مجموعة تجاوزت كافة الأنظمة وخالفت صلاحيات الأجهزة التي كانوا يعملون فيها.

Second, The Prince is “obsessed” with capturing Saudi dissidents and bringing them home ? Where is this sucking sound that is bringing multiple dissidents home? We all know of some dissidents who have been living comfortably abroad and still do, courtesy of foreign intelligence

Third, some people responsible for the crime appear in the background of pictures with Prince Mohammed implying “closeness” to him. If so, this is a point in favor of the Prince indicating that even those who may have been “close” to him have been tried and convicted in court.

The report therefore is based on could’ve, should’ve and would’ve and does not rise to anywhere close to proving the accusation beyond reasonable doubt.

The Prince courageously accepted moral responsibility, presented the accused to the justice system, and pledged to reform the intelligence organizations. Case closed! Let us all move forward to tackle the serious business of world issues!!
